Warehouse Glass Art Sale

Two incredibly gifted glass artists will be selling pieces from their collections to make room for new creations. Please join us for this unique opportunity to own works from two Alberta greats in the realm of glass.

James Lavoie is an Alberta artist renowned for his distinctive and elegant kiln-fired glasswork, which is in high demand across Canada. His work exemplifies a steadfast appreciation for simple design and attention to detail, resulting in pieces that are both sophisticated and elegant, enhancing the inherent qualities of the material. James’s work can be found in several galleries, including the Art Gallery of Alberta, Alberta Craft Gallery, L.A. Pai Gallery, and the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery, among others.

Brenda Malkinson is a Canadian artist working across disciplines to create contemporary stained glass and woodblock prints.  She is a recipient of the 2013 Edmonton Artists Trust Fund Award, 2018 Alberta University of the Arts Alumni Legacy Award, 2019 Eldon & Anne Foote Edmonton Visual Arts Prize, shortlist award, 2017 Chicago Printmakers Third Annual International Print Making Award, shortlist award, and 2016 Alberta Foundation for the Arts Travel Grant.

She taught Art and Design at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Extension, for twenty-three years, as well as conducting workshops and retreats at Red Deer College and throughout Canada for over 45 years. Malkinson’s glasswork has been published in several glass journals, including the book Canadian Contemporary Stained Glass, and has been reviewed in numerous periodicals and magazines.
