Based in Edmonton, Natasha Lay is a trained designer of functional art, especially furniture, with a special love for marquetry. Her palette features wood species from around the world—some familiar, others rare—selected for their unique grain, texture, and colour.
Each piece is a careful assembly of individually chosen fragments, where natural patterns and tones come together to form rich, expressive compositions. Because wood was once alive, every element possesses its unique character, shaped by time, light, and its surroundings.
When not in her studio, Natasha enjoys time with her family, travelling, and exploring the Rockies—with her sketchbook always close at hand.
