Lambert Bordeaux

Wood Turner, Sculptor & Arborist

A self-taught wood carver and turner, Lambert Bordeaux began his craft at 16, working with local birch. In 2012, he built his own studio with the vision of creating natural, functional wood art. Influenced by several master turners like Richard Raffan, he developed his own intuitive process: turning freshly felled green wood, followed by a long—sometimes months to two years—drying and curing period to prevent cracking or warping. A second turning follows, then refining and finishing, transforming the piece into a one-of-a-kind, functional work of art.

Each piece reflects the unique character of the tree from which it came, revealing its scent, grain, and spirit.

“I’m not sure if it’s me creating or if it’s the tree-spirit transcending itself into the afterlife.”
