Nathan runs a small woodworking shop, Sterk Woodworks & Design Ltd., in Medicine Hat, Alberta. They primarily build custom kitchens, cabinetry and architectural millwork, as well as the occasional furniture commission. He is primarily self-taught in regards to furniture and design. Nathan received his journeyman certificate for carpentry in 2013.

“I grew up in the woods in Northern Alberta, lived for a few years in Vancouver Island as a young adult and eventually settled down and put roots in Medicine Hat where my wife, 3 kids and I live. The pieces I’m submitting are my own personal work of my own design. Often I don’t get complete creative control over clients work, so I like my personal pieces to be more of a reflection of me and my style.”
